How do I create a cover letter?

At CVapp.nz, you can create, download, export and share your cover letters for free. Each CV template comes with a matching cover letter template! You will have access to our professional cover letter templates, custom colour options and the ability to download PDFs directly to your device. 

Additionally, you can conveniently merge your CV and cover letter into a single document. To access this feature, go to the dropdown menu labelled “more” and select which documents to combine. Once you’ve done this, you’re ready to download your documents and start sharing! 

How to create a cover letter with CVapp.nz

To create a new cover letter in CVapp.nz, follow these steps: 

Step 1: Sign in to your CVapp.nz account and head to the main dashboard 

Step 2: Click on the “Cover Letters” tab. You should see it next to the CVs tab 

Step 3: Select “Create New” to open the editor and begin creating your new cover letter! 

Step 4. Fill in your cover letter details! We have 3 sections for each cover letter:

  • In the Employer Details section, you can enter specific information about the company, including the company’s name and employer’s name, if known. If you don’t know these details, you can leave this section blank. 
  • In the Personal Details section, you can enter your personal information. We’ll help you out by adding some information from your CV.  
  • Lastly, in the Letter Details section, you’ll be able to compose your own cover letter message. 

Step 5:When you’ve finished creating your cover letter, you can choose a template design from our cover letter builder and download it to your device. You can download your cover letter as a PDF or Docx file, or merge it with your CV. We recommend using the same professional design template for both your cover letter and CV.

How to change the name and language of your cover letter

Your cover letter will automatically be named after the company you’re applying to. If you don’t include the company name or position in your title, we’ll call it “Untitled.” Try to give your cover letters descriptive names to keep your dashboard organised. 








How do I delete my cover letter? 

To delete your cover letter in CVapp.nz, visit the Cover Letters Dashboard and select “delete.” Remember that this action is permanent. Once you delete your cover letter, our team will not be able to access or retrieve your deleted cover letters for you.
